Who we are

This app is operated by BrainBuilder LLC, on behalf of The Trails Church. It exists for one purpose: helping members of The Trails Church read the Word together between Sundays. Questions? Email cjschaars@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
• Study reflections — the answers you write in the weekly study.
• Prayer requests — requests you choose to share with your partner, “I prayed” marks, and answered-prayer notes.
• Scripture memory progress — the verses you practice and your review schedule, plus any personal verses you add.
• Partnership — which partnership you belong to.
• App activity — which days you open the app (one date and last-seen time per day). We don’t track what you tap, read, or how long you stay — just that you showed up that day.

That’s it. There are no ads, no analytics trackers, and we never sell or share your information for marketing.

Who can see what

• Your study reflections are visible to you and to church administrators (so pastors can shepherd well). Other members can never read them.
• Your prayer requests are visible to the members of your partnership and to church administrators.
• Personal memory verses you add are visible only to you.
• Your app activity (the days you opened the app) is visible to church administrators, so pastors can gently check in on someone who’s gone quiet — never to other members.

Service providers

Your data is stored and processed by a small set of infrastructure providers acting on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication, hosted in the United States), Vercel (application hosting), and Resend (transactional email such as signup confirmations). Scripture text is fetched from Crossway’s ESV API; those requests contain only the passage reference, never your identity.

Your data, your call

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, reflections, prayer requests, marks, memory progress, and activity history are all removed. You can also email cjschaars@gmail.com to request deletion or a copy of your data.

Children

The app is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page at https://thetrails.brainbuilder.io/privacy and note the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
